As a History professor at Brookdale Community College for
many years, and as an active volunteer with organizations such as Meals on
Wheels and the League of Women Voters, I have devoted my life to public
service. I have a vision for Wall’s future that includes:
OPEN, RESPONSIVE, INCLUSIVE GOVERNMENT
Establish community advisory boards and revamp the selection process for all
township appointments and committees.
Hold regular meetings with all township departments and employees.
Implement a consensus-based, bipartisan management style to make township
meetings more resident-friendly.
Work with surrounding towns to establish a comprehensive emergency and
evacuation plan.
A GREENER WALL
Join the National Mayor’s Challenge to reduce global warming and use energy
more efficiently.
Seek grants to conduct an energy audit of all township facilities and
transportation needs.
Preserve open space, increase recycling, and reduce overall energy use.
Enhance the Recreation and Environmental Committees’ work to emphasize
energy conservation, and health initiatives; develop a strong educational
program to increase environmental and nutritional awareness.
Review Wall’s Master Plan to manage future development.
Work with county, state, and federal agencies to monitor municipal waterways
and areas of the township.
REDUCING GOVERNMENT COSTS
Enact a stronger pay-to-play ordinance; end no-bid contracts.
Advocate for Wall in discussions with county, state, federal officials on
school funding.
Initiate energy-savings plan through possible shared services, recycling,
conservation.
Work with School Board professionals to maximize public school resources to
maintain academic excellence.
